A huge Thank you to all the parents, teachers, school support staff, friends and families who supported our first PTA Race Night. The event raised just over £300, and everyone who attended had a wonderful evening, thanks to the Compere, lots of silly hats and super company. It was a lovely community event, and here are the photographs. If you have any more that you would like to share, please e-mail them to me at mooren@welling.bexley.sch.uk Thank you again.
The PTA invite you to subscribe to 'The Giving Machine' to support them in their efforts to raise money to support the school. Signing-up to the Giving Machine will cost you nothing but a few minutes of your time, and everytime you shop online with the big brand stores a percentage of each sale will be donated to Welling School PTA. We would really value and appreciate your support in helping us, to help you. The flyer below gives more information and the code required to support Welling School PTA specifically. Thank you.
The first PTA Race Night is being held on 12 March and is an adult only event aimed at both parents and teachers who want to have fun, social evening. The horses are mechanical and require lots of audience participation. A Fish and Chips supper will be available on the night but must be ordered along with tickets before 5 March and everyone is welcome to bring along thier own drinks either soft or alcholic. The more people who go the more funds we will raise to support the school Science Department, and in particular Catherine Ventham in setting-up an after school Science Club. Please support us and bring family and friends for a great evening.
Welcome to the Friends of Welling School blog, which has been created to provide parents, staff and students with up to date information on activities and to advertise forthcoming events. The purpose of this blog is to circulate information about all aspects of life at Welling School to parents, pupils and teachers. We also aim to contribute to the school community by fund-raising and organising fun events where parents, children and teachers can meet, socialise and enjoy themselves, thus forging greater community cohesion.
The aim of the Friends of Welling School is to support parents and pupils in having a rewarding and fulfilling time whilst at Welling, both academically and socially. We aim to do this by:
1. Fostering relations between the staff, parents and others associated with the school.
2. Engaging in activities which support the school and advance the education of the pupils attending it.
Equally as importantly we will not:
• involve ourselves with the day to day running of the school or of the teaching system
• be concerned with the problems of individual children
We hope you enjoy the blog content and we would welcome any feedback. Please support our events, and visit the blog regularly to find out more about our work to support Welling School in realising its vision to move from 'Satisfactory to Good, and Good to Outstanding'.
